If you look closely, you can notice that the south facing side has a slightly larger bow on the south half of the hoop than the north side does. One condensation trap is cut in half and attached to the front and back hoop as in the picture above. They were white PVC so we painted them gray for UV protection. The condensation traps have a bend in them which creates the trap.

To frame the door in the front, I used some odd lengths of 2″ X 4″ that had been left over from a previous project. The string can be let out to hold the window open when desired. I am considering using soaker hoses in the hoop house to see how well that works. First I go along the sides and remove the 1″ X 2″ boards that have the “J” hooks in them. Now we have the means to roll the sides up as needed and hold the rolled sides up by hooking the plastic binder twine with the loop in the end over the “J” hook. From this we hung about 12 or 14 inches of plastic binder’s twine with a loop on the free end. For the front of the hoop house you will need to do some measuring also. Covering the ends of the hoop house will also take some measuring.
In addition, a hoop house does not use reflective groundcover, since all of the plants are growing in the ground. A greenhouse will often contain reflectiveground cover to reflect reflects heat onto seeds growing in trays on raisedtables. You can also choose different materials for the “skin” orwalls and ceiling of the hoop house, depending on how much light you want tolet in to the structure.
The red square shows the position of the square wooden dowels (Nails). As it gets warmer, the cold frames are moved to the uncovered plot. There the first lettuce crop of the year can be planted in the ground in March instead of May, with the protection of the cold frames. This way, while you are still harvesting lettuce from one plot, you can be growing more lettuce in the other plot, avoiding any gap in your lettuce supply.

Instead of plastic sheeting, they have glass or polycarbonate panels and can be fitted with space heaters and other climate control systems. You might be wondering how does the plastic gets fixed to the rails. The rail which we have attached to the hoop has a hollow cavity.
The differences between a hoop house and a greenhouse could help you pick the right solution. Use the wiggle wire to fasten the side plastic and top plastic both at once to the end hoop. Make sure that the plastic is tightly fastened to the end hoop. Cut 1 inch deep and 4 long grooves from each end of the frame so It will make a joint that can be easily connected to the door supports. Connect the opposite poles on the top by inserting the male connector of one pole into the female of the other pole.
While they can break under certain conditions, they are more durable overall than plastic coverings. It isn’t surprising that hoop houses are less durable than greenhouses. The plastic covering is more susceptible to wear and tear, punctures, and damage from UV radiation, which can decrease its lifespan. For designing the door you can use the same 2/4 wood which u have used for the frames. We have used 2/2 wooden frames for making the door in this project. Fix the door head frame with the door ends using screws and also screw the lower end of the door side frames to the base wall of the hoop house.
